The Administrative Core is responsible for the overall management of the Core facilities. In addition, the following programs are covered by the Administrative Core under the direction of the DDC Director, Associate Directors, and Center Administrator. The Administrative Core is responsible for the following Center programs.
Named Investigator Program
Each year in the fall we solicit applications for a Named Investigator Award. The External and Internal Advisory Committees review the applications, and in consultation with the Director, select a candidate. The Named Investigator Program provides partial salary support for one to two years for Center members at the Assistant Professor level.

- Annual Symposium - This year's Symposium, "Through the Intestinal Tract with Gun and Camera," was held in honor of Stan Falkow on May 3, 2008, at Stanford University's Hewlett auditorium. The June 8, 2007 Symposium centered on the theme of hepatitis C (title: The Virology and Treatment of Hepatitis C"). The 2006 Symposium was held on June 23rd and revolved around the topic of "Autoimmunity in Digestive Health and Disease."
The 2005 Symposium covered "Pancreatic Cancer: Clinical and Basic Development."
Clinical Component
This is a new component that is being established to support translational research efforts.
